Medicare supports and encourages the use of Home Healthcare Services by eligible Medicare and Medi-Cal beneficiaries because these services accomplish the following goals:

  • Contribute to the health and well-being of patient and family
  • Increase recovery rate
  • Help restore the patient to health and maximize functionality
  • Prevent costly and inappropriate admission to hospitals
  • Reduce re-admission to hospitals
  • Make possible earlier discharge from the hospitals or nursing homes
  • Prevent unnecessary and costly travel to hospitals.

Social Services/Home Health Aide include the following activities:

  • Deals with social and emotional factors related to illness
  • Assist and educate patient and family with financial and social resources to improve level of care in home
  • Assist patient to increase strength through exercises, and personal care such as meal prep, walking, bathing, toileting and dressing

Physical Therapy Services are designed to:

  • Restore specific loss of function, range of motion and strength
  • Utilization of adaptive equipment and aid in rehabilitation

Occupational Therapy Services provide

  • Therapeutic exercise and activities of daily living skills facilitate maximum level of function

Speech Therapy Services are focused on:

  • Therapeutic exercise and activities of daily living skills facilitate maximum level of function
  • Assist patient in regaining speech abilities which may have been impaired following illness or accident
